We’re thrilled to share that Manchester Collective have been successful in securing significant, three-year funding from the John Ellerman Foundation.

The grant, which amounts to £150,000, comes at a really crucial time for us. It will go towards ensuring the organisation’s sustainability in this precarious time and will support the delivery of our varied activities by funding two full-time positions in our small team.

The John Ellerman Foundation is an independent, grantmaking foundation supporting charities working in the arts, social action and environment to make a difference to people, society and the natural world.

Linda Begbie, Development Director of Manchester Collective, said: “This grant is a huge affirmation of our work, mission and drive to transform the way people engage with classical music. We couldn’t be more grateful for the financial support, and what’s equally important to us is the relationship with such a special organisation. Their genuine interest in listening, learning and helping talent to thrive is quite rare. We are honoured to be associated with the John Ellerman Foundation and look forward to sharing our successes in the years ahead.’

The Collective are currently devising new programmes for a socially-distanced world, alongside recording work. Our debut EP ‘Recreation’ is released in September 2020 by the Icelandic label Bedroom Community, and will be followed by a full-length physical release, ‘The Centre is Everywhere’, in early 2021.
